UPDATE: THE RAFFLE HAS NOW BEEN DRAWN, SO ALL THE PRIZE WINNERS HAVE BEEN PICKED (TO BE CONFIRMED FRIDAY 21st OCT). YOU CAN STILL DONATE TO THE PAGE FOR ANOTHER 24 HOURS, BUT NO MORE PRIZES WILL BE AVAILABLE.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is a rapidly progressing terminal illness, one which currently has no cure. There are around 400 people in Scotland currently living with MND, one of them well known by Hearts fans.
Our friend, Stevie Morris, bravely told his story via the club he loves, after his MND diagnosis in 2021. Despite the devastating news, Stevie has shown incredible strength to publicly talk about MND and help raise awareness of the awful illness.
Stevie kindly joined us on our podcast, Scarves Around the Funnel, a few months back, to talk about football as well as his battle with MND. We're looking forward to welcoming Stevie back on the podcast later this month, and at the same time we'd like to raise some money for MND Scotland (who provide care and support to people affected by MND, as well as funding research into finding a cure).
On our special episode with Stevie, we will be running a raffle; with some great prizes to be won. These prizes will include:
- A signed shirt from the Hearts men's team (donated by the club)
- A signed Ryan McGowan shirt (donated by the man himself)
- A signed shirt from the Hearts Women's team
- A copy of the book 51 Shirts, by Grant Young
- A copy of the book Triumph and Tragedy of 19-05-12, by Anthony Brown
How do you enter?
To enter the raffle, simply donate at least £5 to this page. For every £5 you donate, your name will be entered into the raffle once (so if you donate £10, you will be entered in twice, £15 three times, £20 four times etc). So for each £5 you put towards a worthy cause, the more chance you have of winning one of our terrific prizes!
When will the raffle take place?
The raffle will take place on our podcast episode recorded on the evening of Thursday 20th October 2022. Stevie himself will do the honours of making the draw, so the lucky winners will be announced on the podcast; which can be listened to on most podcast apps, including Spotify and Apple.
Please ensure you put your full name when donating, and allow us to contact you; so if you win we can get in touch and make sure you receive your prize! When you are making your donation, just remember to tick the box that says "I’m happy to share my contact details with Laurie Dunsire for the purpose of thanking me".
