Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As many of you will know, we found out in 2012 that Scarlett would soon need open heart surgery to close two holes and remove a blockage in her heart.

On the 25th of April 2013 Scarlett was admitted to Birmingham Childrens Hospital along with myself and a very nervous Steve! Scarlett had her surgery on the 26th and it couldn't have been more successful!

Before, during and after her surgery BCH provided a service and a level of care that I doubt could be equalled by any other hospital. And despite being told that we should expect Scarlett to be in hospital between 2-4 weeks, she was discharged, happy and well after just 5 days.

We cannot thank BCH enough for what they have done but we hope that running the Birmingham Half Marathon (again) is a good start!

So dig deep everyone! Thank you so much!

(This page has been re-opened from 2013 to continue the effort and see how much we can raise overall!)

About the charity

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.
