Story
I am running the Brighton marathon for the 5th time this year, and as usual, have decided last minute to raise money for a cause that had hit our family some 20 odd years ago.
My not so little sister who is now 27, when she was little, started acting strange, fainting, headaches, vomiting etc. She got misdiagnosed by the GP as suffering with a migraine.... We later found out it was anything but.
She had a brain tumour, that to this day, still continues to change her life, with lifelong medication, regular trips to the hospital, amongst other things, it's safe to say she hasn't had an easy life.
She has turned out into such an incredible human being, who fights against all the odds, sometimes looses but never let's it stop her! She is a lovely sister, and amazing auntie and a caring dog mum!
I am so grateful for The Royal Marsden for saving her life, and for also remembering to look after the entire family during those difficult times.
Anything you can give, please do, cancer will always be around, but donating money towards equipment and treatment could save a childs life.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world. From funding state-of-the-art equipment and groundbreaking research, to creating the very best patient environments, we will never stop looking for ways to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.
