All donations to the Scanner Cycling Challenge will go towards purchasing a second CT Scanner at Salisbury Hospital. A second scanner will make a tremendous difference and help ensure that local people receive the best possible care. Waiting times will be reduced, there will be no need for patients to travel to other hospitals, and, by using the very latest technology, many patients will have scans instead of minor operations.
We estimate around 12,000 local people will benefit each year, including cancer patients who will get a faster diagnosis, emergency and stroke patients who will be seen more quickly when every second counts, and many others such as heart, orthopaedic and spinal patients and children.
The Stars Appeal is committed to ensuring that local people receive the best possible care and equipment over and above that which the NHS provides. Your donation will help towards funding this much needed second CT Scanner and, on behalf of all the patients who will benefit from your generosity, the Cycling Team would like to say thank you.
