Scott, Louise, Steph, Jodi, Emma, Andrea, and Sarah from the Scala Finance Team have decided to step away from their desks and comfort zones to participate in a 10k run to raise money for The Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

In loving memory of Julie

In May 2024, we sadly and unexpectedly lost Julie to skin cancer. Julie was not just a colleague but a dear friend to all of us. She spent many appointments at Mount Vernon and always expressed her gratitude for the excellent care she received and the compassionate nurses she met. Julie was a beloved and respected member of Scala, and in her memory, the Scala family wanted to contribute to helping others who are currently battling this terrible disease.

Supporting the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre

The funds raised will help Mount Vernon provide free complementary therapy services to patients, such as relaxation classes, Reiki, aromatherapy, reflexology, and cancer-specialist massages. They also aim to fund scalp cooling machines to help reduce hair loss during chemotherapy, and install sky art panels in radiotherapy rooms to create a soothing, outdoor-like environment during treatment. One of their major campaigns is to build a new therapy suite to offer prostate cancer patients advanced radiotherapy treatments.
