Story
It all started with a zoom meeting with our ‘close to heart’ friends. We were talking about Captain Tom Moore, the 100-year-old here in the UK, who raised not just money but strength and goodness in everybody’s mind, to do something for the benefit of others.
Raman, who lost his vision 14 years ago, was listening to us, and said that he wanted to do something for a good cause. Our good friends wholeheartedly encouraged him “Yes you can do it!”, and that’s how it all started.
Starting 1st June Raman has embarked on a 60-day Garden walk ending on 31st July.He will do 20 laps of the garden each day (1200 feet total each day). On rainy days we will setup an equivalent course inside the house.
Raman will turn 80 this year, and these many years of vison loss have been difficult not only with the loss of sight and independence, but also general physical health and engagement. Increasing his level of activity to do a garden walk is a significant challenge, but his jovial spirit is strong.
He is doing this for ‘Fight for Sight’ a charity focused on ‘pioneering eye research including the recent breakthrough in AMD. We hope they can continue to help many others.
Your support will be a great motivation for Raman and your donation will go to a good cause.
Best Wishes
