Story
Together with everyone, last festival we raised nearly £19,000 for the NHS which is just crazy... This time round we decided we wanted to help people who maybe haven't been focused on as much and who are the most vulnerable to the virus. Stay at Home Festival part 2 will dedicate its money raising to Age UK
Age UK are currently running a Coronavirus Emergency Appeal to support older people during the pandemic, and we feel this is of huge importance at this time. The elderly are some of the worst affected during these times. They are secluded, often alone and vulnerable, and are unable to have contact with their families or the outside world, which is likely to last a long time. They are desperately in need of special attention, food supplies and even just someone to talk to.
Age UK is the country’s largest charity working hard to ensure vital information, advice and befriending services stay on track. Calls to the advice lines have increased by 55% in the recent months and are expected to rise.
Age UK provide:
Expert advice through their free advice line
Comfort and reassurance through crucial friendship services, with a 24-hour helpline
More funding to over 130 local Age UKs so they can support their communities.
With the support of the festival community, we can make a difference..
