Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm setting this up on behalf of our team who will be completing the Rough Runner challenge on 22nd July.
For anyone who hasn't seen it it's a torturous combination run/ obstacle course of gladiator, total wipeout, Takeshi castle and total ninja. Not something I normally do and we're all clearly going to need some serious training.
Why you may ask, well the kids wanted to do something to show support for their auntie Sarah, who was diagnosed with grade 3 breast cancer earlier this year and she then came across this safe in the knowledge she wouldn’t have to complete it herself!!
For those of you who don’t know my sister, she is only 40 and should be spending the year celebrating but instead is hooked up to chemo and playing girls world with her wig! She is attacking this with humour and positivity on the outside but we all know how hard it is to face something this big so young with everything to play for!
The adults were kind of shamed into it by the great example set by the children. Thanks kids, oh and we are very proud of you.
So myself, Cathy d, Craig Andy and Ben will be running the adults course while Megan, Lewis, Maisie and Elliott will run the kids - all to raise money for the Chemo unit in Durham (Dryburn) hospital who are treating Sarah currently. They need funds to extend the ward and purchase new equipment so any donations will be greatly received and put back into the local community benefitting more people who need their support.
If any of Sarah's friends want to join us please let me know and we can add you to the team. She's promised a huge BBQ afterwards so you'll get fed and a pint in Crocs. If not your sponsorship means a lot.
