Today almost three-quarters of children with cancer are now cured. In the 1960s it was just a quarter. Cancer Research UK's many successful clinical trials on children’s cancer have helped to transform the outlook for these children and their families. But around 250 children a year in the UK still lose their lives to the disease, so their groundbreaking work has to continue.
