Story

Hello!

In honour of my 3 year old son Max, who was diagnosed with Autism and Speech Disorder in April, I’ve managed to convince myself that this challenge is a good idea!

Before I became a special needs mum, I knew nothing about autism and the difficulties that come with it.

Fun Facts!

- Autism is a lifelong developmental disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world.

- More than 1 in 100 people are on the autism spectrum in the UK.

- There are likely many people who are autistic but undiagnosed, especially among adults.

- Despite their wish to work, only around 3 in 10 autistic adults are in employment.

- Autistic people have far more negative experiences of interviews, group tasks and psychometric tests.

- Employers and managers often report poor knowledge of autism and feel under-prepared to identify and implement adjustments for autistic people.

Despite the hardships (and lack of sleep OMG!), the autism community is AMAZING and I consider myself very lucky to have a Max in my life!

If you’re feeling generous, please donate to help raise awareness & create a society that works for autistic people. 😊

THANK YOU!!!!
