We fund research, we campaign, we support - to fight for your right to breathe.

Story

On 22 June 2011, Andy Seaman, Ray Booth, Mark Simpson and me, James Brumpton, will be completing Coast to Coast Bike ride, between Whitehaven and Sunderland

It consists of 150 miles, covered over 3 days.

We have chosen British Lung Foundation, as my fiancé, Joanna's, father, died of Sarcoidosis in 2001 and this will be completed in his honour.

Please spare whatever you can, it will be greatly appriciated.

Many thanks x

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcoidosis

Sarcoidosis is a disease in which abnormal collections of chronicinflammatory cells form as nodules in multiple organs.

The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown. Granulomas most often appear in the lungs or the lymph nodes, but virtually any organ can be affected. Normally the onset is gradual. Sarcoidosis may be asymptomatic or chronic. It commonly improves or clears up spontaneously.

More than 2/3 of people with lung sarcoidosis have no symptoms after 9 years. About 50% have relapses. About 10% develop serious disability. Lung scarring or infection may lead to respiratory failure and death.
