<p>On 22 June 2011, Andy Seaman, Ray Booth, Mark Simpson and me, James Brumpton, will be completing Coast to Coast Bike ride, between Whitehaven and Sunderland</p> <p>It consists of 150 miles, covered over 3 days.</p> <p>We have chosen British Lung Foundation, as my fianc&eacute;, Joanna's, father, died of Sarcoidosis in 2001 and this will be completed in his honour.</p> <p>Please spare whatever you can, it will be greatly appriciated.</p> <p>Many thanks x</p> <p>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcoidosis</p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">Sarcoidosis is a disease in which abnormal collections of chronicinflammatory cells form as nodules in multiple organs.^&nbsp;</span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">The cause of sarcoidosis is unknown. Granulomas most often appear in the lungs or the <span class="mw-redirect">lymph nodes</span>, but virtually any organ can be affected. Normally the onset is gradual. Sarcoidosis may be asymptomatic or chronic. It commonly improves or clears up spontaneously. </span></p> <p><span style="color: #000000;">More than 2/3 of people with lung sarcoidosis have no symptoms after 9 years. About 50% have relapses.
