I am trekking 26 miles on the South Devon Coast on Saturday 10th September 2022 in memory of my Mum. My lovely Mum suffered from dementia for many years and it was very hard to watch the illness robbing her of the ability to remember all the happy times in her life. She was aware of what was happening as her Mum, my Granny, had also suffered from it. Mum once said that she felt like she could see a boat drifting out to sea taking her memory with it and she couldn't stop it from drifting further and further away. It is a heartbreaking experience for sufferers and their loved ones and I want to raise money to help others who are fighting the illness.
