Interactive Arts Exhibit in Kosova
Nine artist graduates of , Interactive Arts are invited to exhibit at Expoart40 Gallery in Prishtina, Kosova. Gallery owner Majlinda Kelmendi (http://www.majlindakelmendi.com/) has invited nine young British artists to exhibit in the capital, from 17 November - 1 December 2009. The gallery has a very good reputation in Kosova. This groundbreaking exhibition showcases young British artists and is curated by two artists from Kosova. The importance of taking the show to the Balkans is because this is something totally new there. Young artists in Kosova are isolated from the outside world, as are all its people. Kosova is outside the EU. There is no freedom to travel. graduates would discover potential in the Kosovar artists. The exhibition gives Balkan artists opportunities to share their experiences with British artists, opening up a whole new world to them. This collaboration will give both sides a different perspective and is already leading into new projects and opportunities for everyone involved. The visiting artists will learn about art in Kosova. They will also learn about the culture and everyday life to see where South Eastern European artists find their inspiration within their communities. As it has been difficult to get funding we need your help with absolutely basic costs, to send as many as possible of the nine young artists to Kosova to take part in an educational programme and to print and present their work. Any contribution to this innovative work will be greatly appreciated. Gift aiding your donation though Just Giving is the most efficient way of giving to support to this collaborative arts project which further develops the 10 year link between Kosova and Manchester which originated in the sending of crisis aid during the war. Thank you so much, Saranda Bogujevci Fazli Blakçori (curators)
