Story
Sara and Sarah have friends and family who either have, or are caring for loved ones with dementia. We have seen how frightening the illness can be for those suffering from it and how stressful and isolating it can be to support a family member living with dementia. We took up running during lockdown and it helped us through challenging periods in our own lives, providing us with a fresh perspective, time and space to think and breathe. We know that the freedom to go for a run is a luxury for people with caring responsibilities. We hope that by completing our first half marathon we can raise funds to ensure as many people as possible can benefit from the Alzheimer's Society vital frontline support services, their campaigning for better care and their research to find a cure.
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever.Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
