Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.
The Aplastic Anaemia Trust is a fantastic charity, and relies totally on donations from the public. It raises money to research cures for and provide treatment to sufferers of bone marrow failure. A couple of things you might not know about bone marrow failure:
1. There is no current known cure
2. It can be developed at any point in life, and can potentially be fatal
The charity is little known and depends on these types of events to raise sufficient funds to perform research and provide cures.
The triathlon consists of a 1km in the Serpentine, Hyde Park followed by a 10km around the park and then a cycle through the streets of Paris (80km). This is 40km longer than an olympic triathlon.
Since the triathlon started over a decade ago, the survival-rates of patients treated at St. George's Hospital has dramatically increased - but until the survival rate is 100% there is more work to do, and this needs to be funded by public support.
At LEAST 91p of each £1 that you give, will go directly to SAVING LIVES. Because Aplastic Anaemia is so rare, the AAT do not attract the same interest or funding as major charities. The AAT are TOTALLY DEPENDANT on funds raised by charitable efforts.
You can get further information on the charity and the disease at: www.theaat.org.uk.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Aplastic Anaemia Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
