Thanks for having a look at my page. To my own amazement, I’ve signed up for a 10 day trek to Nepal, raising funds for Unicef. The trek is going to take me up above 4000m in altitude over rocky trails, mud, some scree and also some snow and ice. We’ll be walking for up to 8 hours a day and camping overnight.
It’s (obviously!) going to be a massive challenge for me and training (!) has begun already with a couple of short walks over the Malverns. Siani (dog) has really enjoyed it, but her little legs have got a bit stiff! Photos and progress reports are available on my Facebook profile.
I’m going to pay for the trek part myself, so all the money that’s donated in sponsorship will go to Unicef. The money raised is going specifically to help children in Nepal, with education and healthcare at the forefront. You may not be aware that Unicef receives no money from the UN; all its funds come from public donations. You can be sure your money will be well used and much appreciated. Thanks very much!
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: UNICEF UK gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
