Story
Beginning this August, I am going to be serving as a Jesuit Volunteer (JV) at the St. Francis Cabrini Center for Immigrant Legal Assistance, which is a part of Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. I am so excited to support the Cabrini Center and their clients as a legal assistant. I look forward to interacting directly with clients, listening to their stories, and supporting them as they navigate the difficult U.S. immigration system. I am excited to put my Spanish skills to use and to learn more about the intricacies of immigration law. The Cabrini Center does incredible work and I'm excited to join the team!
After recently graduating from the College of the Holy Cross, a Jesuit university in Worcester, MA, I am thankful to have the opportunity to continue to engage with Jesuit ideals and Ignation spirituality. Through JVC, I hope to not only serve the Houston community, but also to live in solidarity with the people that I'm serving and deeply engage with my fellow JV housemates and the broader city. JVC will be an incredible opportunity to also gain professional experience and continue discerning my future goals and potential career path.
Thank you so much for taking some time to learn more about JVC, I cannot wait for my journey to begin! All donations, big and small, help Jesuit Volunteers like me be able to serve those in need every year and also grow as individuals who play a role in shaping a better tomorrow for the world we live in. Thank you so so much for your generosity and support!!!
