Story
Cancer can be a devastating illness and has touched most of our lives. In 1988, our Dad (at the time with 3 young daughters), underwent treatment for Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It was a very difficult time for all of us and thankfully he has now been in remission for 32 years. The gratitude for the amazing care he received and the research that had been undertaken to treat his cancer never, ever fades. As research has developed there are more and more positive stories to share, but research must continue for this to be the case.
As most of us are aware the global pandemic has hit all charities really badly, particularly smaller independent charities with no national support. Fundraising is absolutely vital for them to continue with their work. All of the NWCR funding stays within the North West and North Wales to help develop leading edge research here.
I was so proud to be asked to be part of the North West Cancer Research team, participating in the iconic London Marathon to raise funds for them will be a privilege. I really hope you feel able to support me to help me 'round the 26.2 miles (it's really not easy!!) and so I can raise some money for a fantastic cause! I completed it in 2019 which was the most incredible experience, then again virtually in 2020 and now it's an absolute honour to be asked run London again in 2021 to raise much needed funds for an incredibly worthy cause.
Heartfelt thank you for any support :-)
