Story
On 7 June 2025, I’ve challenged myself to take on the South Coast Mighty Hike and hike a marathon across the South Downs to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.
This year, the year I turned 40, I decided to take on this epic challenge, with three of my closest friends, for a cause that means so much to me. My best friend’s mum is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and my own mum fought her battle just a few years ago. I’ve lost several close family members to this awful disease, including my amazing auntie Janet. This hike is for them, and for everyone affected by cancer.
I’m not an experienced hiker, and I’ve never walked anywhere near this far — I’m not a fan of hills either! So, this will truly be a huge personal challenge. But I’m determined to do it, and I’d be so grateful for your support.
Please help me reach my £250 goal. This could provide essential medical, practical, and emotional support for people living with cancer and their families.
There are currently 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today. It’s Macmillan's goal to be there for everyone from the moment of diagnosis, but they can’t do this without donations from people like you.
Thank you so much for your generosity and support — it really does make a difference!
