Sarah's The Big Charity Run page

On 10th April 2020, I lost my lovely dad to COVID-19. Alongside many other illnesses, he had end stage kidney failure and had to have dialysis three times a week to keep him alive. Patients with chronic kidney disease and end stage kidney failure have to adjust to many difficult changes in the way they live their lives so the information and support offered by this charity is so important.
Therefore, I am going to combine walking, running and cycling for a total of 150 miles during May. Those who know me well will know that years of figure skating left me with a recurrent anterior cruciate ligament injury so this really will be a challenge for me.
The Charity run by kidney patients for kidney patients, the charity supports two million people with Chronic Kidney Disease and 60,000 patients who have end stage kidney failure. The charity also supports Dialysis and Transplanted patients and their carers. The NKF offers a National Kidney Patients Helpline 0845 601 02 09 offering medical information leaflets, help and advice - with trained staff answering around 200 calls a week.
