Story
Hi Everyone,
I have decided to run the great north run again to challenge myself for the last time in this event but also to raise money for those living with cancer.
I am raising money for the Newcastle upon tyne hospital NHS charity specifically for the Bobby Robson foundation who fund projects for cancer patients in the North East.
As most of you will know my grandad sadly passed away almost a year ago to cancer. He was a remarkable man who continued to stay positive and fight the cancer every day he had it. He really was an inspiration and an amazingly strong man who I am immensely proud of.
In 2008, my Grandad was diagnosed with Stomach Cancer and thanks to the fantastic surgeons at the RVI they successfully removed his stomach and helped him to recover and beat this cancer.
Sadly in 2010, having recovered from stomach cancer he was diagnosed with bowel cancer.
Throughout his countless visits to the hospitals he had such good care and from doctors and nurses who did everything they could. He also received the most fantastic care from the district nurses in Gateshead who helped and cared for him right until the end.
I hope the money I raise will help others to have the same care and help my Grandad received and also to go towards the continuous fight to beat cancer.
Every pound makes a difference and I am grateful for every donation made.
Thanks
Sarah-Jane
