Team fundraising for Etatu charity.

In March 2023, four of us, Sasha, Sarah, Lorenza and Claire, are travelling to Mililani School in Kenya. We are raising funds to support the children who all have special needs. We are covering all of our own costs and every penny we raise will help to improve these children's lives. Currently, the school is sparsely resourced with only two members of staff working to care for 40 children who have significant and complex needs.

Our Aims

We hope to make a targeted and positive impact in some key areas in the few short weeks we have in Mililani. Your donations will be used to help us achieve these outcomes:

To support the funding of trained staff to work alongside existing staff and maximise opportunities for development in key areas such as communication. This will be further supported by the charity Etatu.

To purchase new and second hand resources to take with us to provide sensory and learning opportunities in the classroom.

To contribute toward the £500 needed for student Hamisi to have a life changing operation on his legs.

To help raise funds for some raised vegetable beds within the school grounds to enable students to grow and potentially sell their own produce.

To provide opportunities to learn about food cultivation and preparation.

To support community links between the children with additional needs and their typically-developing peers.
