Instead of our usual team, this year we are sadly completing the Venus Challenge in memory of our dear Mum and friend, Judy, instead of with her. As many of you know, Mum sadly lost her battle with a very rapid development of bone cancer on the 9th August 2012 only 7 and a half weeks after diagnosis. We were able to give Mum her final wishes and kept her at home in her final weeks and days. This was completely down to the support our family were given through many professional bodies, of which St Michael's Hospice community team (Macmillan Nurses) were part of. They continue to do a brilliant job with the aftercare of Mum's 4 grandchildren, Daniel, Bethan, Matthew and Eva through play therapy sessions which help them to talk about the loss of their lovely Nanny Jude. St Michael's hospice is SUCH a worthy cause and really does help our local community and supports families just like ours - you never know when you may need to call on their brilliant support.
