Story
In my last year at school one of my closest and most fantastic friends, Thommy, passed away from meningitis. Losing a friend so quickly at such a young age shook us all, in our house at school. Thommy was head of Sanderson house and carrying on in our last year without her was exceptionally hard. Anyone who knew Thommy would say she had a zest for life and she brought not only smiles but hilarity to our school days.
From academia, to sport, acting and music she excelled at everything she took on and was never one to do things by halves. I am sure that she would have taken on a challenge like a marathon in her gorilla costume while wearing flippers, unfortunately I am not BRAVE/STUPID enough to try and attempt that, but thinking about her ridiculousness will keep me going through the 26.1 miles.
I am now in my third year at Bristol University studying medicine, which has shown me how vital charities like the Meningitis Research Foundation are for finding cures and treatments for those suffering from such an illness.
I would really appreciate any donation you feel able to give. As you can imagine this charity is very close to my heart and if it can help to save just one life it will be so worthwhile.
THANK YOU
