Story
Well the fools that we are - we have got a place in the London Marathon!
As most of you who know me, my best friend Amanda was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer in December 2006. She has fought so hard and strong against the cancer and keeps reaching milestones we never thought were possible. Unfortunately early this year Amanda was told the cancer has returned and she is starting chemotherapy again, but as ever with a smile on her face and a huge amount of bravery. The pain of running the London Marathon is incomparable to what she will have to go through.
We are running the Marathon in celebration of Amanda and to raise money for Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. This is the only charity wholly dedicated to defeating lung cancer and so being able to raise money for them means we will be helping Amanda in some way through the work they do.
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor us now and make 5 nights of hard slog running (EVERY WEEK!!) worth it!
Many thanks for your support.
