I DID IT!!
I finished this year's London Marathon in 5 hours 13 minutes, not my quickest but certainly my toughest. I started off well and ran the first half in just under two hours, however, at mile 16 it all went wrong and I so wanted to give up. I was fighting a tummy bug that Toby had been suffering from. With the support of the crowds I fought on through the rain and hail to finally creep over the finish line.
In 2003 I was lucky enough to fulfill my dream of running the London Marathon by being given a charity place, at the end I said 'Never again'! However, I have been hooked on running ever since.
Each year I have made my entry to the London Marathon and was rather surprised when in December 2007 I received an acceptance. As the other sport I enjoy very much is skiing, I have chosen to raise funds for Disability Snowport.
Having taken a break from running to enjoy some skiing prior to the Marathon, I have lost count of the number of people that I have seen, still enjoying skiing but using specially adapted equipment. With your help I would like to help Disabilty Snowsport buy some more of this equipment to help more people enjoy sport in the mountains.
