Story
I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes during my pregnancy in 2019 and have been living with the day-to-day impact of this ever since. Diabetes affects so many people and can lead to other health complications which can be very serious. I am determined that this won't happen to me!
Since my diagnosis, as a family we have managed to raise over £4000 for Diabetes UK through running challenges. Jonny ran a 100 mile race and then we both took part in a 24hour running challenge in which we managed to run/walk 240km within the 24 hours. Jonny has been the main driving force behind these and so I decided that now it was my turn!
So here I am! I applied to run the London marathon for Diabetes UK and have been lucky enough to be selected. This is going to be our biggest fundraising challenge and my biggest running challenge yet! I have not run a marathon since 2016 (and more significantly since having a child), so the challenge is quite daunting.
Thank you for visiting my Just Giving page and we are so grateful for any donations made. Watch out for future fundraising events that we are going to organise to help us achieve our target of £2100!
Together, we can change the lives of people with Diabetes! Thank you xx
