Story
Hello,
Welcome to our page!
We, Sarah and Jamie have been lucky enough to secure a joint
charity place for the LONDON MARATHON 2019, raising money for the fabulous
charity ‘Tuberous Sclerosis Association’
The charity is very close to our hearts with a very close
family member being affected by this.
TSC is a genetic condition that can lead to growths in
various organs of the body, but those most commonly affected are the brain,
eyes, heart, kidney, skin and lungs. When they cause problems, it is mainly
because of their size and where they are in the body.
The Tuberous Sclerosis Association (TSA) is the only UK
charity dedicated to supporting people affected by Tuberous Sclerosis Complex
(TSC) so please helps us raise as much money as possible.
Sarah’s Statement – “I have had running the London
marathon on my bucket list for many years. To complete this race two days
before my 40th birthday for this fabulous charity is an absolute
honour. I am nowhere near as fit as Jamie and I am under no illusion that this
will be the toughest, most challenging thing I have ever done in my entire
life. I am currently on week 3 of a sixteen-week programme that sees me having
to run 5 times a week, increasing the distance each week. The thought of doing
this to enable us to raise lots of money for the TSA is what is motivating me
and my aim is just to complete it (no pressure on time) All 26.2 miles of
it…..!!
Jamie’s statement – “This charity is one that is
hugely close to my heart so to be able to complete the London marathon whilst
raising money for such a worthwhile cause is just brilliant. I already do lots
of running and have competed in a number of events, however, I have never run a
marathon. I am pushing myself to my absolute limits in training and hope to get
to a stage where I can complete the marathon in around 3 hours 40 – wish me
luck! 😊
Thank you for reading, please donate whatever you can
however large or small, every little helps us get closer to achieving our dream
of raising our joint target of £4000.00 for this amazing charity
Thank you
Sarah & Jamie
