Thanks for visiting Celia Wixey's Memorial Fund Page
Our mum was 25 when she died unexpectedly in her sleep during an epileptic seizure. She left behind her loving husband and two young children (that's us in the photo just before she died).
Epilepsy is a common condition that affects approximately one in 103 people and it can affect anyone at any time. Little is known about the causes of epilepsy, what happens when a seizure takes place or how Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) can be prevented. In October 2015, Sarah will be trekking to Everest Base Camp to raise money for Celia's Memorial Fund. Donations will go to Epilepsy Research UK. This is the only UK charity that funds scientific research into the causes and effective treatment of this condition. The money will be used to fund specific research projects and enable researchers to make a real difference to the lives of others. You can find out more about the Memorial Fund by visiting ERUK's website (www.epilepsyresearch.org.uk/memorial-funds/celia-wixey).
Thanks in advance for your support, Sarah (left), Rachel (right) and Tony (behind the lens).
