Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2017 is going to be a busy one! I have entered a series of physical(and mental!) challenges which will hopefully result in me raising some money for Lisieux Trust (see link ) which helps support the independent living of adults with learning disabilities in our local area. I will be doing this alongside my fellow cyclists, runners and friends from the Boldmere Bullets, as this is our chosen charity of the year.
The first of these challenges with be to attempt to survive my first (and almost definitely last) half ironman ie. a 1.2 mile open water swim, followed by a 56 mile bike ride and the finally a 13.1 mile run aka a half marathon. This is taking place on 21st May at a location near Nottigham and is known as The Outlaw! (see link below)

Then on 17th June I am honoured to be riding with an amazing team of cyclists and support crew as we attempt the annual Chase the Sun challenge. This is a 200+ mile bike ride from one side of the country (Minster-on Sea) to the other (Burnham on Sea) within the hours of daylight ie, a race to make it before the sun goes down. Its going to be epic!

Finally, on 15th October, I will be entering the Birmigham International Marathon (my first!)
Friends who have known me for a long time will testify that I have not always been one for physical exercise.... I suffered from years of back pain in my 30s after I had my children, and didn't recover enough to start swimming and running until I was in my early 40s. I only began road biking a few years ago, having sworn that I never would! So I have been relatively a very late starter, and really just accidentally discovered that I like it . A lot!! Over the last few years I have stepped out of my comfort zone and achieved things that I honestly thought would have been out of my reach. So happily it seems that its never too late....
I am currently out training hard in all weathers to try to get my body fit enough to survive all of the above without it dropping to bits, so anything that you could offer as a donation to help me support The Lisieux Trust would be amazing and most gratefully received. I will be giving it my all! Thank you xx
