Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit Harry's JustGiving page.
Harry’s goal is to run 50km over his Christmas holidays - it works out as 3km every day of the holiday - even Christmas day!
Harry is only 7 and this is a big challenge for little legs, but he really wants to raise money for the charity who are looking after his little cousin, Rosie. As he said to me, "it's not a challenge if it isn't hard mum!!"
Rosie was diagnosed with a tumour in her spine in May this year, at 16months old. It was a huge shock at what was already an incredibly hard time for everyone. Since her diagnosis, Rosie has had 2 major spinal surgeries and is now on a gruelling 18month chemotherapy regime. She is just the most amazing, resilient little lady, who is adored by Harry (and her brother and other cousins.)
The Candlelighters Trust has been incredibly supportive of Rosie, Helen, James and Toby in so many ways - offering practical, emotional and financial support. They have a big presence at the Oncology clinic at LGI where Rosie attends, they play and entertain her whilst being a friendly face with a hot coffee for Helen. They have continued to support parents of children with cancer emotionally (despite covid), offering virtual well- being sessions and talking therapy.
If you can support him with this incredible challenge, it'd be much appreciated. This was all of Harry's idea and we are all so proud of him. Hopefully it will bring a really tough year to a positive end!
We will keep you updated with his progress and will do daily updates over social media.
