As many of you know, last year I ran my first London Marathon and I ran it so fast that I qualified for a good for age place this year.  By "so fast" I mean that I ran it in 3 hours 46 minutes (and 31 seconds), so just got that good for age place by 3 and 1/2 minutes.  I won't be challenging for any world records any time soon!

I've decided to fundraise again for Grief Encounter this year, as I did in 2021.  This charity supports bereaved children and young people and its work is all the more important after the couple of years we've all had.  I read recently that around 13,000 children have lost a parent because of Covid - that's a huge number in itself, but doesn't show the whole picture. 1 child in every UK classroom will experience the death of someone close (a parent, a grandparent, a sibling, an aunt, an uncle, a friend) by the time they reach 16 years old.
