Little Hearts Matter is a national charity offering support and information to anyone affected by the devastating diagnosis of a single ventricle heart condition, children born with half a working heart. We work to support and raise awareness of the needs of these children and their families.

Story

Colbie-Kate was born and suffered blue episodes soon after birth, Kaye and Stuart her parents, were told that she needed a heart operation, Colbie Kate had her first operation when she was just six days old and has had four more operations since then. She suffers from complex congenital heart disease, which limits her as she is basically living with half a working heart. She gets breathless easily and turns blue. She had her last operation in 2008, despite this Colbie-Kate doesnt let her condition stop her and lives life to the full and is current Eyemouth Herring Queen. She loves doing voluntary work and is always keen to help others. Little Hearts Matter supported Colbie Kate's family from day one, with valuable help and advice. Through the charity she meets other teenagers who suffer from similar conditions, who can understand what life is like living with a heart condition. She is an inspiration to us all and we hope that we can raise some much needed funds for Little Hearts Matter and help others like Colbie Kate.
