Sarah's Orangutan Fundraising Page

Trans Borneo Challenge · 1 November 2017 to 22 November 2017 ·
In July 2015, the year after my beautiful Mama Sau-Lan Tottle passed, I trekked The Inca Trail with the sensational burns survivor Turia Pitt and fundraised for an organisation called Interplast.
Two years on, I feel ready to take on another challenge and have chosen something very close to my heart which is fundraising for the survival of our adorable orange furry cousins, the orangutans.
Orangutans share about 98% of the DNA of human beings and are also known as 'Man of the Forest'. Over the years of human globalisation, their environment has become very limited due to deforestation from the prodution and demand of palm oil. Without active intervention there is a high probability that in years from now, their natural environment may no longer exist and the Orangutan will be another of Earth's creatures to become extinct.
The Orangutan Project actively fundraises and donates funds to multiple projects that directly influence the ongoing existence and survival of the Orangutan.
I am undertaking the Trans Borneo Challenge 2017 and I thank you in joining me on this journey so that we can contribute to the survival of this threatened species. I am prepared to put in the hard yards of trekking through the humid, mosquito infested Borneo jungle and I appreciate all the help, support, advice and donations to the cause you can give me.
