Story
My mum, Christine, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on 26th January 2021 at the age of just 67. Yorkshire Cancer research is a charity that she has supported for many years and is Yorkshire’s independent cancer charity. I would like to continue to raise money in her memory and to continue to support the excellent work the charity does.
Over the last few years running has been very important to me and the benefits to my mental health have been so good. I run, but I have never run a full marathon before. I am not a very fast runner and I have never really had the self discipline to follow a plan, so please believe me when I say this will be a challenge!
If you knew my mum you will already know how fabulous she was. If you didn’t I will tell you now that she was fabulous. She was kind, thoughtful and friendly, she said the funniest things and she was never without a smile. We all miss her so much. Cancer affects so many of us in many different ways and I hope that by helping to raise money for Yorkshire Cancer Research we can help a few more families laugh and smile together for longer.
