Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On 4th August, I will be riding 100 miles in the Prudential RideLondon 2019 in aid of Guide Dogs. Although I like a challenge, cycling is completely new to me and when I first got on my new road bike in March for a short ride/wobble to work, I wondered what I'd let myself in for! A couple of months down the line and the training miles have increased, I've felt the burn of climbing some tough hills, had an embarrassing fall involving clip-in pedals and I can actually name a few parts on the bike (yes - I didn't even know what an inner tube was until recently...)
I've been a volunteer for Guide Dogs for a couple of years now and have had the privilege of seeing what amazing work they do (and of course boarding some gorgeous training dogs!)
But although they are incredible, it's not all about the dogs. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking of Guide Dogs as an animal charity, when actually the work this charity does transforms the lives of so many people. I cannot even begin to imagine living with sight loss and yet 70% of adults receive no support within the first 12 months of diagnosis. Having a Guide Dog provides blind people with confidence, security, companionship and will change their life.
So please, dig deep to support this amazing charity and thank you!
