I will be taking part in intensive boxing training over the next two months so I can compete on the 28th of March in my own boxing fight! Please, please, please book tickets and watch me get beaten the shit out off.. I have no stamina.. I am not strong.. I love junk food and still love the pub so I think it will be hilarious to watch me attempt to box!! You can buy tickets from this link

Why am I taking part?I am taking part in a Charity boxing event because it has effected so many people who are close to me. Especially, my two step sisters Kate and Alex. Their mother, Jayne, passed away in 2011 from cancer. To see the pain it has caused my two sisters and the people around them is heart breaking. My sisters lost their mother when they were blossoming into teenagers and adults, probably the time when they needed her the most. They have both became beautiful, strong and independent women who would be making Jayne so so proud. Jayne has been unable to see her daughters grow up and even meet her first grandchild, Imogen, because cancer stole her life away from her. I do not know Jayne well however from all the stories I have heard I feel like she was apart of my life too. I thought it was only right to share Jaynes story through my sisters words...

Kates StoryMy mum was an incredible woman. She didn’t have a lot but gave me and Alex the World. She worked hard but played harder! She was a big kid at heart, especially when she was with her two sisters! They were called the three witches because they would laugh together all the time they sounded like witches cackling!

Mum fell really ill in August 2010 and was taken to hospital. They found a huge tumour in her bowel and removed it. My mum was so proud of her scar and showed everyone she met! I’ve never seen someone so happy with a scar! They tested the tumour and found it to be cancerous so she started having chemo and radiotherapy.

She started losing her hair and bought herself a wig. When she brought it home, we all tried it on and had a really good laugh. I always remember telling my mum I wanted to be a hairdresser, and she was so supportive and would tell me she can’t wait for her hair to grow back, so I could experiment on her.

Shortly after, she had to stop having chemo due to a chest infection. That’s when we found out it was small cell cancer, growing aggressively and rapidly, and it was on her lungs. On 16th December 2010, we were told she had 1 month to live. She was allowed out of hospital for 1 hour on Christmas Day, but she wanted to go back to hospital sooner than an hour. In the space of a week, the cancer had ravaged her body, and it was horrible to see her looking so sick, especially on Christmas Day.

I spoke to her the day before she died, she was skin and bone, she looked so ill, she could barely stay awake, I knew it wouldn’t be long. To see this once funny energetic woman with now nothing left other than cancer was heartbreaking. She died on 13th January 2011, 9 days before my 16th birthday. She died at the age of 55, and never got to really see me and my sister grow up, get jobs, go to uni, or meet her first grandchild.

No child should have to watch their parent go through what I saw, and I hope one day, no child will ever watch their parent die from such a horrendous disease.

This disease takes away so many loved ones from peoples life's. It is crazy to think that someone is diagnosed with cancer every two minutes in the UK. For these reasons I believe it is only right to raise money to help find a cure to prevent any more life's being taken! Please donate to this page, even if it is a small amount.. every penny counts! Thank you for taking the time to read through my page.
