Story
I am running the London Marathon in October for JDRF after our daughter Summer was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January 2021.
Type 1 is a lifelong autoimmune condition, often developing in childhood. It is relentless and needs careful management day in, day out. In a nutshell, someone with type 1 will check their blood glucose throughout the day and inject themselves with insulin every time they eat. It's a lot for anyone to deal with, let alone the 29,000 children living with it in the UK.
I chose JDRF above all charities because of their vision to cure type 1...
"One day, we will create a world without type 1 diabetes. Until that day, your support is vital for our world-class research, improving treatments until we find a cure." (JDRF)
Thank you for taking the time to read my story
