Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As some know, I was finally diagnosed with Endometriosis just before my 30th, it took over 8 years to finally get diagnosed. I have always suffered with deliberating pain since I was a teenager but was told it’s normal. September 2020, I had my first operation, which unfortunately since then nothing has improved. Just over a year on from my first op I’ve been back & forth to more gp & hospital appointments after a long fight, I’m finally under a Endometriosis Specialist at UCLH In London. Living with so much uncertainty for the future with this illness is horrendous, no one should have to go through it.
I’m now on the waiting list for ANOTHER surgery which is looking to be early summer 🤞🏼 Unfortunately, my endometriosis isn’t just on my ovaries but has spread to my pelvis, this surgery isn’t going to be a straight forward but this makes me even more determined to complete this marathon! 💛
I’m running the Brighton marathon in April for Endometriosis UK as they have helped me so much the last couple years, and taught me to never give up and keep fighting. I’m also doing this to spread more awareness everywhere, unfortunately for me I was diagnosed a lot later in life and it’s too late. It shouldn’t have to take so many years to one be taken seriously and secondly get a diagnoses! The younger your diagnosed the better it can be!
