Story
In 2019 I was lucky enough to gain a place in the London Marathon running for The British Legion.
Unfortunately in February 2019 whilst away in Italy I had a nasty fall which resulted in a torn ACL, torn Meniscus and torn Medial Ligament in my right knee. Two operations later and not being able to run for two years I am finally getting back to fitness, with hopefully my first run being around Christmas time. My London Marathon will be in October 2022.
This is not going to be easy and I am sure I will not break any records! however I am determined to do this and I will. I am raising money for a fantastic charity and one that I am hoping that you will dig deep and support.
My run will be in memory of two inspirational people. My amazing dad that I lost suddenly on the 31st March 2020 to sepsis. God I miss him so much but he was proud that I had got a place and always encouraged me.
And also my auntie Edith who passed away on 25th May 2019. I was actually in Australia attending her funeral the day I found out I had a place in the Marathon. She loved to support the British Legion and I will have her poppy on the day I run. Despite marrying an Aussie, she was so proud to be British.
I am really looking forward to this challenge.
