Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Well, as anyone can remember from last year : I HATE RUNNING. But all in the name of a good cause, I'm running 5k with some mountivew girlies on September 11th in the 5k Woman's Challenge in Hyde Park for a charity called 'BEAT'.

beat is the only UK wide charity supporting people affected by eating disorders and campaigning on their behalf. Our vision is that eating disorders will be beaten. beat is the first port of call for anyone who is affected by an eating disorder, adult or young sufferer, family member, friend or the profesional supporting them.

Their vision is that eating disorders will be beaten. beat is the first port of call for anyone who is affected by an eating disorder, adult or young sufferer, family member, friend or the profesional supporting them.

We provide helplines for adults and young people, online support, an award winning website and a UK wide network of self help groups to help people beat their eating disorder. We also run conferences and eating disorders traininig events for healthcare professionals and GPs.

I, and the other girls, would really appreciate the support. You can donate as little or as much as you want it all counts!!! This is what your money will do:

£2 enables beat to provide online support to a young person struggling with an eating disorder

£5 enables beat to answer a question on the helpline message boards

£10 enables beat to give a sufferer the opportunity to talk to a support worker

£25 enables beat to answer five questions in our online Youth Chat Room

£100 enables beat to train a Young Ambassador to talk about and raise awareness of eating disorders in the national media

£250 enables beat to train a helpline worker

£500 enables beat to set up a regional training event to train volunteers to set up and run a support group in their local area

£1000 enables beat to set up two Self Help Groups to provide support and advice to both sufferers and their families. Or it can be used to allow beat to expand our research into eating disorders, their causes and ways to potentially prevent them

£2500 enables beat to create a downloadable eating disorders information resource to help sufferers and their carers

THANKYOU ALL.
