Story
As many of you may know running does not come naturally to me… so I have decided to run the 10k in a few weeks as a personal challenge and also to raise a bit of money for charity.
I’ve decided to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society. Dementia is a devastating illness affecting around 1 million in the UK and millions more friends, families and loved ones. Alzeimer’s Society is a fantastic charity that provides invaluable support and information to those friends and families of dementia suffers. It also trains professionals, campaigns for rights of people with dementia and plays a crucial role in research and public awareness. In my work I have seen first hand the devastating impact of dementia on patients and those around them, and also the brilliant work that Alzheimer’s Society does in making their lives easier and simply providing support. Watching the gradual decline in someone’s mind is heartbreaking and every bit of support we can give to charities such as Alzheimer’s Society can help those affected today and help prevent the tragic consequences of the disease on ourselves and those around us in the future.
So please please help me raise as much money as possible for an extremely worthwhile cause. Your support is greatly appreciated and any contributions, no matter how small, would be welcomed. Thank-you!
