Hi everyone and thank you for visiting my JustGiving page.
I should have been running the London Marathon on the 26th April 2020 but because of covid my place was transferred and I am now going to be running on the 2nd October 2022.
Unfortunately on the 6th June 2022 my beautiful little nephew sadly passed away. I will still be running for Scope and more importantly in memory of Stanley 💜
Below is my original post from 2020. I would also like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has sponsored me so far. The total amount that has been raised is £3400.79
On the 26th April 2020, I will be running the London Marathon. As many of you are aware, I ran this in 2017 and it was without doubt the most physically demanding and challenging day I have ever experienced, (which is why it has taken me 3 years to forget about the pain and consider repeating it).
So why put myself through it again? Sadly, my wonderful nephew Stanley was born 11 weeks premature and suffered from 2 severe bleeds on the brain. Being told that he only had a 5% chance of survival, was heart-breaking and we prepared for the worst. Remarkably though, this little fighter is now 4 but will never live a life like most: he is in a wheelchair and can’t walk or talk. In spite of this, he is the happiest, most loving little boy, living the best life he can due to the support he receives from his amazing parents and the charity Scope.
Scope is a wonderful organisation which helps disabled people and their families to have a better quality of life and champion everyday equality. That’s why although it terrifies me, it’s worth enduring the pain of completing a marathon once more to raise money for a cause so close to the hearts of my family. Life costs an extra £583 a month on average if you're disabled, which devastatingly affects over 13.9 million people in the UK.
So, please dig deep and help myself and Stanley raise as much money as possible for those who deserve a helping hand and a little hope for the future.
