Leading the way to a better quality of life for everyone severely affected by mental illness.

Story

I was diagnosed with Depression over six years ago now. The past six years has been an absolute roller coaster but I have finally come to point where I feel am in control of my life and am having more good days than bad. Now I am in this position, I would love to make a difference and help others that suffer from Mental Illness.

I am raising money for two Charities. I will be raising money (offline) for No5 Youth Counselling in Reading. Without this charity, I would not be where I am today. My counsellor has helped me understand a lot and has been there when I felt I had no one else to turn to. As a thank you, I will be donating all Offline Sponsors to No5.

The second charity I will be raising money for is Rethink Mental Illness - this will be for all online sponsors. If you have a preference as to which charity you would prefer to donate to then you can choose either Online or Offline (money in person) sponsorship.

The reason I would like to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness is because without charities like this, we would have a lot less help with mental illnesses. The work these people do are amazing. Very often, with mental illness; because you can't physically see the problem - you can feel very alone and isolated not understanding what is happening to you, and it can be a really scary place. Charities like this help you to understand and offer amazing support to people when they feel there is nowhere else to turn.

I hope running this race will raise more awareness about Mental Illness to friends and family - just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there!

So if you have a few spare pennies - please donate. I would really appreciate it. :)
