Thanks for taking the time to visit my just giving page
Taking part in the London marathon has been an ambition of mine for many years and I was awe when a close friend competed this a couple of years ago which gave me the encouragement to apply, After having all my training go to waste when the marathon was cancelled in April 2020 due to covid I took part in the virtual marathon in Oct 2020 but on October 3rd this year I will be on those streets of London fulfilling my dream and raising money for DBUK
So here I am my own marathon journey begins....
I am running for a charity very close to my heart, as some of you already know my eldest son was diagnosed with the condition a week after his 3rd birthday, this was a devastating and life changing diagnosis for us
Charlie is now 22 and after 19 years of being a type 1 diabetic is beginning to show signs of the long term affects that comes with having the condition. He has lost sight in one eye and has limited sight in his other
He went through some very tough years in school and late teens being bullied and wanting to just forget he had the condition and not looking after himself which has had an impact on his health. This last couple of years Charlie has turned his life around and the impact this is having on his health/diabetes management is showing massively...I’m so proud of him.
I’m hoping to raise awareness and raise funds for families, children and adults who live with this condition and for research and the amazing support that’s offered
I would be so grateful if you could spare a donation or give my page a quick share and help me on this journey 💙
Thank you
Sarah xxx
