Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  My Nana passed away just before Christmas 2012 from vascular dementia.  As you can imagine it's still quite raw so I'll keep this short. 

Nana was someone I think everyone should have met!  She never had a bad word to say about anyone or anything and was such a happy person. 

“Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine” Anthony J. D'Angelo.

This quote sums up Nan perfectly.  She brought sunshine wherever she went, with her smile and with her spirit; there was never a cloud in the sky.  I’m a better person for knowing her.

I can't say this disease is worse than any other, but it's one I've experienced, one which continues to affect me and one that will never fade (you never know, I might even end up with it!).  It's one of those illnesses that no one seems to understand, where treatments are few and far between and support is difficult to find. 

I'm doing the Bogle for Nan and for all those suffering from this awful disease and for the loved ones who are trying to help and who feel like they fall just short because sometimes nothing can be done.
