Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am participating in the Frome Half Marathon on Sunday 19th July 2015 to raise money for the British Tinnitus Association and to also raise Tinnitus Awareness in the community and primary care. I work in the Audiology Department at Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre and see patients daily with Tinnitus offering them help and advice regarding their condition. It is all too common that people assume that nothing can be done for Tinnitus, such negative statements are not only unhelpful but tend to focus the patients attention on their Tinnitus and exacerbate the distress. I am calling for all the community and staff in primary care to have a positive attitude towards Tinnitus to ensure that patients have better outcomes and knowledge regarding their condition.
