Story
In March 2020 my brother Bryan passed away after a two year battle with cancer. Severn Hospice looked after Bryan when he needed them. Although no one ever wants to think that those they care about may need the services that Severn Hospice provide, it's vital that they are there for individuals and families when they are most needed. I want to help Severn Hospice support other families with their steadfast commitment to step in and surround them with dignity, compassion and love.
Bryan encouraged me to start running through a C25K with Lawley Running Club, he was a keen runner and run leader with the Club, he continued running following surgery to remove his stomach and subsequent chemotherapy treatment, always making the most of life right up until he passed away peacefully in Telford Hospice. I am so grateful that I got to experience running with him. I wished I'd listened to his advice more and started running sooner then I would have had many more chances to run with him.
I'm delighted, excited and humbled to have the opportunity to run London Marathon for such a fantastic cause! I'd better start my training 🏃♀️😊
Severn Hospice is with families from the moment they're referred to its care for as long as they need it, and it does this every day, all day for anyone in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin and Mid Wales who needs that help.It does this for them for free, but it is not without cost and it can't happen without you.For every £1 you donate, they will spend 83p directly on care - and use the remaining 17p to make another £1.Last year, all those individual donations helped provide more than £9m of caring services.Thank you - you're amazing!
