Event: London Marathon 2023, on 23 April 2023
Welcome to our 2023 London marathon page for all our incredible runners taking part in the marathon for LUPUS UK!

Story

My amazing dad, Rick, has recently received a diagnosis for Lupus following 10 months of tests and procedures for various other conditions - during this time his health deteriorated vastly and the uncertainty of not knowing what was wrong was one of the worst aspects of his illness. Now he has a diagnosis he can begin to make steps to get back his strength and health and get used to life with Lupus.

Throughout last year all I wanted to do was to help dad, now we have a diagnosis the one way I can do this is to commit to getting over the finish line - the drive for all the training, the sore feet and aching muscles is all for dad.

I will take to the streets of London on Sunday the 23rd of April to raise both awareness and money for this amazing charity. This will be my first ever marathon, I have always loved a challenge, to say I am terrified and excited in equal measure about sums it up!

All the money raised will go directly to Lupus UK who support people living with lupus and fund research into the disease.

I would hugely appreciate any donation big or small, everything helps to raise money for this charity and ultimately will help lupus sufferers all over the UK.

Thank you so much in advance, wish me luck!
