Story
When my brother Mark tragically passed away in July 2019, I was put in touch with TASC through my job with the Welsh Ambulance service.
TASC offered me not only emotional support but financial too. I come from a broken family and have had to deal with what happened to my brother on my own.
Financially I struggled to keep up as my UCS pay is the only wage in my household.
Thanks to TASC I was able to finance bringing my brother home from Southampton.
With the extra support from a local funeral directors in Gladestry , I was able to send Mark off with the dignity and respect he so rightfully deserved. This meant the world to me, my two sons and Mark's lovely daughter, April - age 10.
With some of Mark's closest friends travelling 100's of miles to be by our side we really gave him a special send off - with lots of love and peace.
The same week my brother passed away I became a 'Nanny' for the first time! Prematuraly we welcomed 'baby Marcie' a little girl into the family. A name chosen with love, fittingly - after Mark ❤
To top it off I had to have some time off work for a much needed major operation. It's been a really crazy six months.
But, I am still standing thanks to all the support I've received. I am now back at work and I am keen to share my story to help TASC - just like they helped me.
I hate to ask anyone for their hard earned cash but I can only reassure you that any donation no matter how small really will go towards helping Ambulance staff who should find themselves in a time of crisis like I was in.
TASC is a charity that will always be close to my heart. For more information on Mark's story please visit the Facebook page I created hoping to help raise awareness of men suffering the effects of domestic and alcohol abuse.
